Four large oil storage tanks burn a mile east of Borger Texas threatening wells and two gasoline plants. The blaze, of unknown origin, began at noon and spread across the dry prairie as hundreds of oil field workers battled to keep the flames from the rigs. Loss estimated at $50,000 by Sunburst Oil Company.
Mrs. Ethel May Ray was indicted by a Bell County grand jury on murder in the death of 70 year old lawyer John A. Jones. Jones died January 15 in a Belton hospital after living with Ray couple. Ray produced a purported will naming herself and her husband to Jones's property. Ray remains jailed. DA Few Brewster expects trial within weeks.
E D Bains a San Antonio Negro was sentenced to die in Huntsville Feb 18 for the murder of his wife Eva Hae Bains on Jan 23 1925. Governor Moody denied commutation after a clemency board recommended mercy. Judge W S Anderson and 22 others urged executive clemency citing model prison conduct.

Morgantown West Virginia January 29 R M Lambre chief of the state mines department was en route to Morgantown to direct the fight against a fire spreading in the south entry of the Connellsville by product mine in the Scott's run district. The fire broke out yesterday and caused the death of one miner and endangered 245 others for a time. A minor explosion early today burned ten men trying to breathe off the fires. their injuries were painful but not serious.
