AP reports each of the three Apollo astronauts widows will get 100000 from life insurance tied to a contract granting exclusive rights to stories and photos of astronauts. The widows also retain annual payments under the 1963 contract between Field Enterprises and Time Inc, now totaling 16250 annually, with details on POLICIES Page 2.
Investigators study charred Apollo 1 wreckage and autopsy findings of three dead astronauts to uncover what caused the first spaceflight disaster. Seven man board led by Dr. Floyd Thompson arrives at Cape Kennedy to organize a wide inquiry as NASA braces for a months-late manned moon mission.
A military spokesman described a second offensive by B52 bombers against a Communist guerrilla sanctuary near Saigon. NASA said bodies flown to Washington D C and West Point Monday with military escort, five original astronauts named honorary pallbearers.

Washington UPI reports federal jurors debated into the evening on whether former Senate aide Robert G. Baker is guilty of income tax evasion larceny and fraud in building a private business empire. The 38 year old defendant faced nine counts with up to 48 years and 40000 in fines.
The federal minimum wage rises from 1.25 to 1.40 per hour on February 1 and will reach 1.60 in a year, lifting pay for about five million workers and adding roughly a billion dollars in annual wages. The changes bring 700,000 more firms under the act, including hospitals and hotels, expanding coverage to about 1.9 million employers with 40 million workers. Critics warn of inflationary pressure and higher wage costs for retailers and other businesses.
