Woman charged with Clarendon murder in sign painter death
Special to the Sunday News Globe. Clarendon Texas January 25 A murder charge was filed today against Mrs F E Bates after the fatal shooting of H M Christianson sign painter. Christianson wounded three times and died at once. Bates surrendered to officers yesterday and awaits an examining trial date. The Clarendon American Legion was seeking Christianson relatives through insurance and war records. Funeral arrangements were withheld. Christianson had a suitcase in his car when summoned inside by Bates. It was unclear if he planned to leave the city.
