At Least One Dead In Tuccumcari Crash
A cattle truck crashed and burned on the Re vuelta Creek Bridge 22 miles south of Logan New Mexico. A Clovis man was believed killed and another person may have died. Bodies remained in the burning cab as Tuccumari officers reported casualties. Some cattle were killed maimed or wandering on the road.

Defendant Is Long Gone From Ohio Courtroom
In Hamilton Ohio on January 22 Judge P P Boli lectured Frederick Joseph Henderson over a non support charge telling him it could mean life in prison. Henderson fled the courtroom thinking a life sentence and was last seen after patting his wife Odessa goodbye. Deputies considered firing due to his thin frame but missed. The judge later said the sentence would be county jail for several days and the life term was a lecture. Brown has not been seen since.

Gunman's Pal Details Role in Armored Robbery Slaying
John W. Stockwell, 26, of Goodwell Oklahoma, signed statement admitting accomplice role in Monday night armed robbery that left Patrolman B W Woods Jr dead. Stockwell waited in a getaway car for Nelson W Warner the gunman who tried to hijack Head s Liquor Store at 419 Pierce Street. Warner, an AWOL airman from Altus Air Force Base, died by suicide about half an hour after Woods was killed. Stockwell and Glenn Hawkins were in a rooming house with Warner at 504 Buchanan and fled on Pierce Street as the shooting unfolded.

Youth Stabbed Outside Amarillo Night Club
Bobby Hatfield, 18, son of G. C. Hatfield, was stabbed in the chest during an altercation outside a Dallas highway night club in east Amarillo. Police seek a youth who recently moved from Fort Worth.
