A crowd from ranching, banking and business circles gathered in Amarillo to pay last respects to Mayor Lee Bivins, who died suddenly in Wichita Falls. The service at the municipal auditorium began at 2:30 p.m. with burial at Llano Cemetery. The Blackburn-Boxwell funeral home handled arrangements as pallbearers and ushers named.

Night highway shooting leaves couple dead and wounded
In Phenix City area near Columbus Georgia a couple was found shot in a car. Ella Mae Fountain 20 of Columbus died on scene and J W Edmunds Jr 25 of Phenix City died later in Columbus. Edmunds claimed he could identify his attacker but could not name him. A pistol with four rounds was in the car.

Bodies found in Atlanta home of doctor and wife
