In Buffalo New York Lloyd Raymond Breeser 41 a railroad fireman attacked his wife Isabel Breeser 38 with a hammer after struggling with income tax forms. She died from a fractured skull and he later cut his throat with a butcher knife before being hospitalized in critical condition. Police reported the five children were at school during the attack.

Woman Burns to Death in Tourist Court
Mrs. Thomas Eaton 76 died from severe burns after her clothing ignited from an open gas stove in Cabin No. 5 at Sneed's Tourist Court 1007 North East Eighth Amarillo. Neighbors aided her as flames consumed the housecoat before firefighters arrived. She had lived in Amarillo nearly 20 years and left no living relatives besides a missing daughter.

Veteran opens war on pickets in Beaumont
In Beaumont on January 12, an ex Army sergeant was fined 32.50 for drunkenness after he slugged a telephone picket who later broke his nose. The picket was a former Air Corps sergeant who said he had promised to punch the first picket he saw in the nose when overseas.
