Eleven year old Bennie Hurst will be tried January 15 in 96th Civil District Court for the killing of Mack Sanchez a 70 year old farm worker. He admitted firing at Sanchez saying he did not know the gun was loaded. The shooting occurred yesterday at the Hanna home near Birdville.

Big Bob Cat Killed Near City by Quail Hunters
A 41 pound bobcat nearly five feet long was killed 20 miles northwest of Amarillo along the Canadian River by Amarillo men R. N. Hoffman and L. L. Echols during quail hunting. Hoffman shot the animal after it charged Echols, a rare large cat for the region that preys on livestock.
