Giant Valentine cookies aid Opportunity School fundraiser
Volunteers from Friends of Opportunity School plan to deliver a dozen 5 inch cookies in a decorated Valentine box to raise funds for Opportunity School in Amarillo. Each box includes nine cookies with assorted flavors, a child drawn Valentine card, and delivery. Call or fax by Friday to order. $25 per box with delivery.

On February 7 dates spanning 1920 1930 1940 and 1946 highlight local events in Amarillo Texas Carlton Confectionary sold apples for 50 cents a bushel in 1920 Camel cigarettes cost 1 19 at Fox Drug Co in the Santa Fe Building in 1930 a Golden Gloves boxing tourney in 1940 left eight Amarillo boxers eligible for the Fort Worth state tournament and in 1946 Amarillo was named site for the first Veterans Administration subregional office on the fifth floor of the Oliver-Eakle Building in Texas.
