Borger Man Found Dead After Severe Winter Siege
Milo James Newport, 45, of Borger, was found frozen to death Saturday in a deep ravine north of town after a family search began Friday. His car was located above the canyon west of Electric City. Newport had been missing since about 6 p.m. Thursday as temperatures fell to near 18 degrees with snow and sleet across the Panhandle.

Three Fort Bliss soldiers killed in bus crash
A bus carrying 39 Ft. Bliss soldiers home for Christmas leave skidded on an ice covered highway east of El Paso. State police said three men died and four were critically hurt. Ft. Bliss reported two dead and 16 critically injured. Authorities said 20 were injured in total.
