Counterfeit Ring Nabbed in Chicago by Secret Service
The US Secret Service arrested Joseph Moschiano and four accomplices, breaking up a gang that printed about $600,000 in fake currency since July. Suspect Slain by Ranger in Pushmataha County Jail
Steven M. Carter, arrested earlier today for shooting two peace officers, was shot and killed by game ranger Atwood Thompson during a jail search in the Pushmataha County jail. Carter drew a 32 caliber pistol, previously taken from Choctaw County Sheriff R. L. Page, and Thompson fired three shots hitting Carter in the head and body. The weapon had been taken from Carter during a prior arrest near Valliant.

An Amarillo woman Mrs. Howard Blackmon of 205 Cleveland received a blood transfusion at St. Anthony's Hospital after Borger carpenter G. Mahler donated type A RH negative blood.
