General MacArthur's headquarters reports Japanese reinforcements reaching Milne Bay in southeastern New Guinea and heavy fighting ongoing. Urgent Laborer Demand At Cactus Ordnance Works

Brown & Root issued an urgent appeal for laborers at the Cactus Ordnance Works in Dumas. Hiring at about 100 per day, carpenters at roughly one third that rate.
