Slayer Burke Nabbed by FBI After Narrow Escape
The FBI arrested Elmer Francis Burke at Folly Beach South Carolina described as a self proclaimed New York killer. He faced murder charges in the July 24 1952 New York fatal shooting and a prison guard assault in the 1954 Boston jail break. Burke used aliases Mr Dean and Paul Renka and was found with two revolvers and two rifles at his beach cottage before transfer to Charleston County jail for arraignment.
