About 75 druggists from the 31st Senatorial District are due at the Amarillo Hotel tonight at 8 for a Panhandle-wide session led by the Amarillo Retail Druggists Association. Speaker lineup includes Rep. Jack Little and Dr. W. J. Danforth with talks on hot check law and fair trades legislation.
Dorothy Dublin a 19 year old from Big Spring Texas leaves the iron lung for a resting period after six weeks in the respirator chamber. She expresses excitement about a surprise from friends and plans to see her fiancé Horace Garret and learn she will soon be seen by her girl friends outside the device.
Centralia Illinois August 23 A C E Brantley a traffic officer enforcing a two hour parking rule issued a ticket to an offender. He checked the license number and found it belonged to his own car after looking inside.
Washington August 23 chairman Dies accused Fraser Gardner of seeking a job as investigator to sabotage the investigation into un American activities. Gardner testified he had no connection with groups under scrutiny then said he was employed by Skyland Press of William Dudley Pelley. Dies said Pelley and the Silver Shirts sought to obtain advance information and discredit the inquiry. The committee planned next week to investigate Communist organizations.
More than 400 Panhandle Red and White Stores owners and employees gather at Buffalo Lake for the annual picnic. The Marr Wholesale Grocery group organized the event with a parade from Marrlesale Grocery, games, a baseball contest pitting owners against clerks, swimming, races, prizes, and a dance to cap the day. Towns represented include Amarillo Canyon Plainview Clovis Dumas Vega and Borger. Supper at 6 with a John Snider barbecue and prize drawings during the dance.
Mrs. Nellie Lewis Rogge of Washington wife of O John Rogge assistant United States attorney general was injured in a Tuesday afternoon car crash near Bolivar Peninsula Galveston. She remained in serious condition at John Sealy hospital with a dislocated elbow and other injuries. Her children Genevieve 12 and Herman 10 suffered broken arms and a leg in the same accident.
W R Armstrong deputy district clerk would be a poor prospect for a modern razor salesman. He shaves every morning with a razor more than 100 years old, a keepsake bought by his grandfather around 110 years ago when he began shaving.
Venice California police arrest 14 year old Richard Jensen who admits striking 13 year old Billy Williams who died from a copper wire garrote and hammer blows. The boy, held for interrogation, had previously been committed to Whittier state school as incorrigible.
Chicago August 23 special federal grand jury accused millionaire publisher M L Annenberg of conspiracy and recommended dissolution of his Racing News empire for reliance on illegal gambling. The panel indicted Annenberg and three others for conspiracy to influence a witness before the jury. James V Hayes said the witness Clarence J Ferguson a Philadelphia detective admitted no wrongdoing and alerted authorities.

Bolivia's 35 year old dictator President German Busch was reported in a dying condition after a pistol wound received early today. Palace doctors said the wound was critical and that emergency treatment followed. Officials rushed to his bedside as crowds gathered outside the hospital seeking details amid uncertain reports of an accident.
