Cuba Electra hijack returned in U S Cuba swap claim denied
The State Department announced Cuba will return the hijacked Eastern Air Lines Electra and the United States will return the Cuban patrol vessel SV8 next Tuesday. Officials say the deal is not a swap, though it resembles a trade with Cuba to send crews to Key West and Havana in exchange. The Electra is valued at about 3.2 million dollars and the hijacker Wilfredo Roman Oquendo, 36, is a naturalized Cuban-born American. The SV8, seized over debts of 429000 dollars, had been held by the U S Coast Guard since July 29.

Canyon area man dies after 50 foot fall from water tank
