Gray County Leads Panhandle Oil With New Regional Peak

Gray County pools drive a regional daily oil average to a six figure level for the first time in two years. The Panhandle field gains 12 081 barrels in a week, with Gray County supplying 74 182 of 112 229 barrels for the district as Hutchinson and Carson counties also rise. The shift from Hutchinson to Gray suggests Gray may become the dominant pool soon, possibly within a week, as more pay zones come online.

Amarillo Guardsman Dies From Camp Injury

Corporal Mark H. Brasher twenty of Amarillo died from injuries after diving into shallow water at Tres Palacios bay while attending camp with Headquarters company 142nd Infantry Texas National Guard. He died at Fort Sam Houston hospital after being rushed there in a third attack group plane. He is survived by his parents five brothers and one sister. The body will lie in state at Griggs Funeral chapel as arrangements are made.
