Thunder Shower and Dust Sweep Amarillo Air Terminal
A late yesterday afternoon thundershower at Amarillo Air Terminal dropped 0.18 inches of rain and kicked up dust high into the air. Turbulence cut visibility to a half mile at the airport and to about a block downtown, with no rain in the central downtown area. A cool breeze followed and the day’s high reached 96 degrees.

Lightning kills Lefors cowboy near Lefors ranch
A Lefors cowboy Lebron Duncan Hext 40 was killed by a lightning strike while rounding up cattle near Lefors Texas. He rode with John Simms and his daughter when the bolt struck fatally injuring Hext and his horse. Survivors include his wife stepson parents brothers and sisters. Funeral plans not yet set.

US Air Knocks Out Tanks Near Waegwan in Korean Fight
Fighter pilots reported five enemy tanks destroyed within a half mile of the Naktong defense lines at Waegwan as part of a heavy two day assault that also damaged 34 trucks and 29 vehicles. A record 550 air flights were flown before rain slowed operations. One 10 000 ton enemy freighter was sunk at Inchon by four B 26 bombers with a bullseye hit credited to First Lt Kenneth J Appel Milwaukee Wis.
