Tragic Drowning At Buffalo Lake Claims Lubbock Youth
Johnny Scott Irwin 16 of Lubbock drowned at Buffalo Lake while chasing a drifting boat. His body was recovered about 5 pm after a two and a half hour search by concession staff, Amarillo firefighters, and four boats. He is survived by his parents, a brother, and four sisters. The two Lubbock boys had rented the boat from Glen McKenzie and were camping nearby when the accident occurred.
