About 400 Amarillo businessmen will gain a metropolitan style club. Construction will start by next Monday on Seventh Avenue, facing Polk and Tyler, site of the old Baker Hotel. The project costs about 206 250 dollars for the building with total investment near 330 000 dollars including furnishings.

Amarillo and Potter County officials agreed to a paving project adding a mile of new pavement from Cleveland Street to Grand Avenue in southeast Amarillo. The plan removes sharp turns at Twenty sixth and Buchanan streets and creates a southern swing from the underpass toward Twenty seventh Avenue. City crews will handle the west underpass work, easing truck detours away from Arthur Street to Tenth Avenue while improving access to Tri-State Fair Park and the baseball field.
