President Roosevelt said reports of a cabinet split over postwar Germany policy are essentially untrue. He released a Foreign Economic Administration plan to guide studies on Germany’s power to wage war, directed with the State Department to cooperate with the United Nations in preventing future aggression.

American troops advance one to three miles against German rear guards amid dense forests between the Verouse River and Rhine-Marne canal. American Seventh Army pushes 11 miles northeast of Epinal, while Third Army infantry drive toward Metz with gains beyond Pont-A-Mousson.
Mrs. Nola Wicker died at the family home in Amarillo after months of illness. She was 63 and had lived in Amarillo 35 years. Survived by husband G. C. Wicker two daughters Juanita LongPre and Homer Rountree three brothers Daniel Baits W. L. Baits Ben Baits and two sisters. Funeral at 4 pm in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel with burial in Llano Cemetery.
