An explosion believed to be a bomb wrecked Superior Judge Webster Thayer's home in Worcester Mass injuring his wife and shaking neighbors. A maid Joan Ashe was taken to hospital in hysterics while the judge escaped unhurt. The blast shattered every window and damaged the garage and barn. Authorities sought a bomb expert as Thayer had long faced threats after sentencing Sacco and Vanzetti.
A Tele grafen Union dispatch from War reports the U S Navy balloon won the Gordon Bennett cup race. It landed this morning on the Polish Latvian frontier after covering about 1500 kilometres from Basel where the race started, roughly 950 miles.
Washington Sept 27 Secretary of the Navy Adams today named Rear Admiral David F. Sellers of Austin Texas to succeed the late Vice Admiral Joel R. P. Pringle as commander of battleships of the Pacific fleet.

Gibbs and Lumpkin appeal to the Seventh Court of Civil Appeals with priority given to the case.
The Chicago Cubs reached New York on a damp morning and chose not to practice at Yankee Stadium before the World Series opener. Manager Charley Grimm announced plans to start Guy Bush against the Yankees with Len Warneke set for the second game. He also praised rookie Warneke and hinted at future rotation roles for Root or Malone.

State's attorneys requested more time to secure witnesses in the fourth district criminal court burglary case of G. W. McCoy of Amarillo. He is charged in the Clowe & Cowan plumbing shop burglary at 223 West Fourth Avenue on September 20. McCoy was not found in the shop. he was arrested September 21 at Dumas after burglary tools were found in his car. He claimed two men forced him to drive toward Dumas and to a North Amarillo park where tools were hidden. He was indicted late last week.
Guthrie Oklahoma September report states charges against H D Little held for investigation in the murder of Karl Rucker a Guthrie grocer were dismissed. Meanwhile R E Maxey of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Criminal Identification rushed papers authorizing Little s arrest in connection with a Shamrock Texas bank robbery.
Amarillo reports drought relief fading as cooler fall weather continues for another day. Heavy rains lingered Monday night between Canyon and Clovis with a 52 degree low Tuesday, while highways experience varying conditions from impassable to fair and rough.
In Los Angeles, 90 year old Creek Indian Jackson Barnett and wife Anna Laura Lowe Barnett face multiple lawsuits from the U.S. government seeking restoration of about 1 million dollars from Barnett estate derived from Oklahoma oil lands. Claims target 550000 given to the wife, with depositional conflict and a Kansas attorney McGugin connected case.
