Loyalist Offensive Shifts Civil War Front Near Maqueda

Loyalist forces break from defense on the Maqueda front advancing six miles. They recaptured Quismondo and pressed toward Maqueda as bombardment from Loyalist aircraft and artillery pounded rebel positions. Casualties were heavier for rebels, while the inundation attempt near the area fell short of hopes.

Citizens Help Police Catch Baird Robber

Bank employees and local citizens helped police corner and capture a gunman at the First National Bank in Baird Texas after a bank intrusion. Clifford Jones and his brother R F Jones confronted the intruder, who fired at them and fled toward a car. Citizens pursued, forced surrender at gunpoint, and the robber was arrested with rifles pointed at him. The suspect, H L Myers, had a prior three year sentence and was out on furlough. Sheriff R L Edwards and Deputy Clarence Nordyke assisted.

Manhurt in crash near KGNC station in Fort Worth

T P Perkins of Fort Worth was injured in a daytime car collision near the KGNC transmitting station. Frank Fullingim, a passenger, also sustained injuries while Perkins suffered a back injury. both were treated at St Anthony's Hospital with Perkins not described as in critical condition.
