Spanish Is Popular Subject at Center Amarillo

The Amarillo Center for West Texas State College reports a strong wartime drive to study Spanish as its fall term opens. The largest adult evening class is conversational Spanish taught by Dr. Stuart Condron, meeting Wednesday evenings, with many business officials planning to join and promote it to county and city officials and the Potter County Taxpayers Association. Registration continues this week in public fi nance and taxation and other courses, including public speaking, federal tax accounting, and philosophy of education, with Director R. G. Boger inviting interested persons to attend tonight’s classes to complete registration.

Four Killed In Air Crash Near Chickasha Oklahoma

A training plane from Childress Army Air Field collided with another aircraft near Chickasha Oklahoma killing four people. The dead were Lieut. D W Remfrey of Fargo South Dakota and three others whose names were withheld pending notification of next of kin. The other plane was damaged but landed safely.
