Emile Nitschmann, 56, a farmer and insurance agent from Teleferner, was found fatally injured beside his automobile. A pistol wrapped in a blazing cloth lay nearby and a note stated he had been the victim of an accident. The clipping mentions a building contact with John Maynard Lumber Co.

In Borger on September 19, the widow of District Attorney John A. Holmes charged local officers with inaction in his anti crime campaign. Sheriff Joe Ownbey said a suspect is located but no arrest until more evidence. Texas Rangers claimed affidavits on an alleged plot involving city and county officers. The widow said only one unnamed man helped Holmes, while others were afraid.

Nathan Walker, a negro living in the rear servants' house at 1601 Madison Street, surrendered to county officials after being sought in the fatal shooting of Frank Fields, also a negro. Fields died on the back steps at 1501 Madison after five shots were fired, one through a window at 1310 Madison. Walker had reportedly waited for Fields and fired as he approached, and had previously been wounded by his wife three weeks earlier.
Dallas 14 year old Ashford Hughes son of Mr and Mrs Huey Hughes returns home after officers in several states were asked to search for him. He arrived with no details on shelter or cause of disappearance.
