Ernest O Thompson Fulfills Amarillo Hotel Dream
Ernest O Thompson, a young Amarillo lawyer, financed and opened the New Amarillo Hotel on November 11, 1922, despite doubts. The second addition is now complete. Thompson earned a distinguished WWI record rising to lieutenant colonel and later commanded units in Germany, with long service to the Rotary Club.
