H. D. Snell of Cordell Oklahoma was kidnapped for a 50000 ransom and freed when the car lurched on an unpaved road near San Antonio. He escaped by pulling a car door lever and fell to the road unconscious, later revived near Alamo Heights. Police and federal agents investigated.

Last Tribute Paid to Young J W Huckaby

Memorial services were held for James Woodrow Huckaby 20 at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev J C Bisemore officiating. Wind and Rain Storms Strike In North Texas and Panhandle

Autumn rains and strong winds swept North Texas and the Panhandle. Tornado threats near Miami caused brief sheltering as twisters damaged fences and a Cadman grain elevator while cattle died and barbed wire blocked lines.
