He warned the government would act if price wars continued while noting plans for differential schedules across territories and grades and for minimum and maximum prices from well to consumer.

New Mexico may see local showers and thunderstorms today and tonight with generally fair Friday. Temperature highs today range from 60 to 72 degrees.

Easterwood defended his honorary memberships for King Victor Emmanuel and Mussolini, noting help to 4,000 American veterans in Italy.
Havana Sept 14 Col Fulencio Batista army chief of staff issued strict orders to guard 1200 Americans scattered across the island with 750 in strike zones. President Ramon Grau San Martin and his cabinet met to restore order and avert American intervention while considering land reforms to distribute uncultivated national lands to hungry peasants in Oriente Province. Oriente is a danger spot after a race war there. See Cuban Page 4.
Fifty five retailers will have legal beer for sale in Amarillo Friday as the deadline nears. Nearly 30 carloads will inaugurate the event with some cars already on sidings. Tax offices will issue licenses at midnight and drivers anticipate a rush. Wholesalers complain of early start while celebrations remain local and orderly.
In Oklahoma City three defendants in the Urschel kidnapping plan to testify they saw Harvey Bailey and Albert Bates with Charles Urschel during the abduction. R G Shannon his wife and son will corroborate the presence and motive, as Shannon’s attorney stated.
Winnipeg wheat market moves to scrap minimum price pegs effective today after having been in place since August 15. The change affects traders and grain prices in the Winnipeg market.
