The third attempt this year on Mussolini failed when a bomb exploded beside his car, wounding several but leaving him unharmed. The fascist leadership claimed God saved Mussolini, who has suffered only minor wounds in six overall attempts.
The Missouri Pacific Sunshine Special wreck near McGhee Arkansas killed Little Rock engineer George Bushey and severely injured fireman HJ Munds. Officials said rail fastenings were moved and spikes pulled to cause the rail to turn under the engine. A spike puller and wrench were found. bloodhounds were used at the scene.
Governor Walker has granted Mell M. Gore a sixty day respite from execution by electrocution at Milledgeville state prison. Gore was slated to be executed for complicity in the December slaying of grocer William H. Cheek in Atlanta.

Denton, Sept. 14. F. L. Silk, 55, died at his home near Lewisville from injuries after a sow attacked him Monday while he treated her pigs. He suffered bites to the shoulder leg face and temple and death was due to brain hemorrhage. He left a widow and four children.

A blaze in Browning Flats, Hillsboro, early today killed three people and burned two others seriously. Victims named Florine Tippett, Ray Tippett, and Dean Roberts. J J Davidson and Joe Maye suffered burns. The fire leveled Central Motor Company, J W Parks garage, and Walter Fowler Cafe.
Mrs Esther Nichols Davis 74 mother of James J Davis secretary of labor died in Sharon Pennsylvania hospital after a brief illness. Funeral arrangements not listed.
Gov M. E. Trapp left Oklahoma City for Robinsoft Kansas after learning his father C. J. Trapp had died late last night following a lingering illness. The governor’s travel was abrupt with no further details released.
The Associated Press reports Elisabeth Frame, a close confidante of Aimee Semple McPherson, claiming Marion Seilaff admitted posing as McPherson’s companion and funding, and that McPherson and her mother financed other staged incidents. Frame also says she wired funds and acted as intermediary in multiple cadences. Seilaff testified she was hired and paid by McPherson and her mother. McPherson’s attorney denied the accusation.
