Mann was arrested on drunk driving charges for the vehicle Sheldon rode in.
Dallas officials moved to clean up strip show concessions at the Texas Centennial Exposition. Two spielers from one concession were arrested for indecent conduct on orders of Police Chief R L Jones after they failed to comply with Mayor George Sergeant’s edict against immorality and nudity at the exposition.
Amarillo reports mail into the Tri-State Fair as entries flood in for its fourteenth annual exposition. Secretary-manager O. d. Ted Taylor notes eight departments enlarged yet space remains tight while about $35 000 in cash premiums attracts exhibitors from distant states especially in the livestock show.
Jim King, Memphis businessman, is the new Democratic executive committee member for the 31st senatorial district after the Fort Worth state convention election. He replaces W. L. Boyles of Panhandle, who had served two years, and who succeeded Judge R. F. Underwood of Amarillo. Amarillo delegates reported unusually large attendance and enthusiasm for the Roosevelt administration.
Smiling John Cobb, a British racer, smashed four world records at Bonneville Salt Flats Utah in a brief run aboard his high wheeled airplane motor car. He then planned a 24 hour run starting Friday to add more records, challenging Captain George FE. T. Byeston’s marks.
Amarillo and vicinity expect fair weather tonight with Thursday partly cloudy. West Texas shows continued partial cloudiness tonight and Thursday, while New Mexico has a similar pattern with little temperature change. Temperatures range from 68 to 88 degrees today.

In Arizona a Townsendite trailed for the House nomination. Townsend-endorsed candidates were unopposed in Colorado for Senate and governor. Raymond L. Sauter and Charles M. Armstrong will be Republican contenders in November. An unopposed Townsendite also won the Republican nomination for the 4th District House seat. Towns endorsee candidates trailed in first two districts while J Arthur Phelps led in one.
