Man Dead Twins In Jail After Sallisaw Shooting

Derailment toll rises in Royal Gorge crash in Colorado
The Denver and Rio Grande Western limited train derailed forty five miles west of Salida Colorado killing twenty three and injuring many. Oral Whitfield and Charles Shilling were robbed at the Fort Worth and Denver station around 10 pm of $82, Whitfield losing $54 and Shilling $24.

Five Texans Die in Sunday Gunplay Across the State
AP reports on a violent weekend in Texas with at least five deaths. Deputy sheriff William Shaw, 30, and deputy constable Sim Mays, 21, were killed in Raymondville while responding to a disturbance in the Mexican section. Sheriffs deputy Earl McWilliams said Pleas Hill, 38, was shot near Ballinger during an escape attempt, and A H Krafft, 26, of San Antonio, was killed by an unknown attacker. Mrs Claudio Chiles died in Beaumont Friday. George Barnum was arrested and released on bond.
