Marines Guarding Mails Considered for Amarillo Route

No word from Postmaster Kenyon about marines sent to Amarillo to guard U S mails. Detachments have been sent to Austin Fort Worth Dallas Galveston and other cities and a few may be sent to the Panhandle. Marines to guard mail trains and post offices were ordered ten days ago by Postmaster General New after a mail truck robbery in Elizabeth New Jersey.

Infant dies as mother seeks aid for Cunningham boy

Harold Lonnie Cunningham, infant son of Mr and Mrs T R Cunningham of 204 East Second Street, died in his mothers arms while she ran for a doctor. The death occurred about 10 AM after the child worsened suddenly. The father T BR Cunningham works on the Herring hotel project and hails from Kansas. The body is held at N and Griggs and Bons funeral home for transport to Kansas for burial.

Tri-State Fair seeks $10,000 deficit guarantee and winter fund drive

J C Coe oversees notes deposited at banks, with 16 copies sent to directors to secure about $6,000 in premiums and $4,000 in winter expenses. State Banks Invest in Cotton Fund Plan

State banks are authorized by the banking commission to invest in a $5,000,000 holding company that will lend to cotton farmers. Charley Fisk, president of the state bankers association, relayed the commissioner of banking C O Austin's advice as the fund aims to provide borrowing capacity of $50,000,000 to farmers who hold cotton until market conditions improve. Unidentified man dies after fall at Borger refinery

A man believed to be C A Wilson died in a Borger hospital after a fall from the smokestack at American Refining Company No 5 Deal Well. He had recently started work with drilling contractors Willie Trigg and Lewis. Family records suggest the name Williams. his wife is believed to live elsewhere. The body is awaiting arrangements.
