A wide search was launched in southeastern Alaska for a Pan American World Airways four engine plane with 18 aboard that disappeared Sunday near Ketchikan as a storm lashed the area. The 44 passenger craft carried 13 passengers and five crew including one infant when it radioed Annette Airport at 1 44 PM that extreme turbulence prevented a possible instrument landing. The case raised questions about possible sabotage by communists per a Washington report.
