100 Per Cent Parity Loans Approved by House Committee
The House agriculture committee approved a bill to require the agriculture department to make farm loans at 100 percent parity for the 1942 and 1943 marketing years and to extend soil conservation payments for five more years. The plan replaces the current 85 percent parity loans for the five major crops wheat cotton rice corn and tobacco. Parity means equal purchasing power to a base period.
