Amarillo forms its first unit of Texas Defense Guards with a plan for a company of 74 enlisted men and three officers. Applications by mail to A. Petersen at 1906 Madison Street. Enlistment is three years for ages 18 to 64, pending final Army approval.

A city commission meeting at 7:30 tonight will review a rezoning request for the 1500 block on Parker Street that recently caused a furore. The panel will also consider zoning 2508 South Fillmore Street for an apartment area, along with four paying petitions and routine business including bills.
Denver dispatch reports state selective service tracked Mrs. Mattie Tier who claimed ten army registrations after signing ten ee cards at her local registrar’s office. A registrar had filed the ten registrations following her registration last Wednesday.
