Cobras Loose Aboard Stranded Freighter in Philadelphia
Seven cobras believed free among 7200 tons of rubber and teak aboard the strikebound freighter Nicaraguan Victory in Philadelphia. The reptiles were part of a shipment from Bangkok to the Anthropoid Ape Research Foundation in Florida. ten were missing at arrival. A Florida foundation representative captured three on deck. others remain unfound as the ship's master confines to his stateroom due to the strike.

William H. Elliott Dies at 76 in Amarillo Home
Retired blacksmith William H. Elliott 76 died at 11 30 this morning at 103 North Florida. A resident of Amarillo for 25 years he worked for Fort Worth and Denver. Survived by two sons G E Elliott of Amarillo and J W Elliott of Arabia two daughters and a mother Mrs Cath erine Elliott of Kiowa Kansas. Also surviving are two sisters Lola Cheap of Kinsley Kansas and Lena Owens of Kiowa. Member of the Presbyterian Church. Body at Blackburn Shaw Chapel.

Gabe W Thompson Funeral Planned for Friday
Funeral services for Gabe W Thompson 31 will be held at 4 PM Friday at Blackburn Shaw Memorial Chapel with Rev Byron Todd Baptist pastor of Frederick Oklahoma officiating. The World War II veteran died early Wednesday after living here three years and working at the Smelter. He is survived by his widow three sisters and three brothers.

Knights Templar To Confer Degrees Tonight And Saturday
Amarillo Commandery No. 48 Knights Templar will confer the Red Cross and Malta degrees at 7 15 tonight at the Temple.
