The two place Aeronca Champion, valued as farm and ranch transport and an ideal trainer, will be exhibited this weekend at the Tradewind Airport show. Roy Taylor of Fort Worth sells the aircraft locally.
Last month Amarillo registered 218 births far surpassing prior records. 122 were girls and 96 boys with 6 of each race group and 3 Spanish-American parentage. Nurses reported 40 deaths, heart trouble leading causes, and most births occurred in hospitals.
Two men held up Canyon Davis a driver for the City Taxi Cab Company early this morning near Colonial Kitchen 1507 West Tenth at about 6 o clock and forced him to drive to a nearby address by Ellwood Park One of the assailants produced a gun and warned the driver not to look back and the robbers took $16 in cash.
Mona Jean Kolar an 11 year old from Erie Colorado wrote the Denver OPA asking for at least one sugar stamp to bake a cake. Officials declined but Elmer C Clark district price executive sent Mona Jean a big chocolate cake in reply.
Awards went to D. W. Godsey who with Herman Pipkin joins the executive committee. P. R. Rose becomes president with Dr. C. W. Seibel as vice president and Frank Forbes as secretary treasurer. Next meeting set for 8 p.m. in Municipal Auditorium basement clubroom. ranch scenes for club competition.
A society sponsored a field trip to Boys Ranch and invites amateur photographers to attend meetings. Regular meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month.
Mrs. Art Jordan, vice president in charge of organization, presided at the luncheon. Plans to increase local organization membership were under consideration. Shrimp can be air shipped to Chicago or Detroit without ice by packing in Insulpack boxes.
