Four Flying Boats Plan 25 000 Mile Trip

Four Southampton type Napier flying boats left Felixstowe for Plymouth to begin a 25 000 mile flight to the Far East. The aircraft carry folding wings pantries stoves and will include canopies ventilators and awnings for tropic use.

Dempsey Tunney Fight Pictures Shown At Local Theater

The Dempsey Tunney fight films are screened at the Deandi theater this evening and all day tomorrow. Will Winch, Dent theater manager in Amarillo, was arrested on a sheriff issued warrant and released on bond. Texas law bans fight pictures with a misdemeanor penalty up to 1000 dollars and sixty days jail, and Winch will stand trial in county court. The rule dates from the Reno match between Jack Johnson and Jim Jeffries.

Man Who Broke Jail Captured in Amarillo

E. T. Tucker who escaped Clarendon jail Tuesday night was arrested in North Amarillo at noon today by Detectives Stott and Mitchell. He faced charges of stealing 1800 pounds babbitt from a local junk company and is also tied to a Con way Service Station theft of about $200. A second escapee from the jail break remains at large.

Four masked bank robbers hit Goodlett Texas bank

Four unmasked men, likely cotton pickers, robbed the Goodlett bank at 10 a.m. less than $1,000 taken. Cashier R N Peterson and clerk Vera Rhea, plus two customers, were locked in the vault as the four fled south in a small touring car pursued by posses led by Sheriff John Compton of Childress. The robbers appeared nervous and inexperienced according to Peterson.
