Amarillo Girls 10-14 Lead Girl Scout Reach
Recreation Study Council results from June show Girl Scouts reach 61 percent of Amarillo girls aged 10 to 14, with 1 135 of 1 868 in the group. Brownies cover 62 percent of ages 7 to 10, while seniors reach 2 percent of 14 to 18. About 1,500 girls belong to 73 troops, prompting new leadership training sessions led by Miss Ruth Minton tomorrow and next Tuesday.

The Rio Grande at Laredo crested after midnight at 20 feet and fell to 19.94 feet by 7 this morning as a strong current carried large water volumes into the lower Rio Grande Valley. Laredo recorded 2.22 inches of rain in the past 24 hours, the heaviest for three years.
