Helen Keller the noted blind author and lecturer plans to attend the Minnesota Purdue football game in Rochester Minnesota tomorrow marking her first game in 35 years. She announced her attendance today envisioning a notable return to the gridiron scene.
National Air Travel Week announces a five pound baggage boost to 40 pounds without charge starting October 1. TWA and others endorse the change and offer Bank of America traveler's checks at offices for traveler convenience.
Patrol identified a red truck involved in a two vehicle crash near Panhandle that killed C R Tips of Canadian and injured C D Foster in a separate collision near Lee's Switch. Tips was an International Harvester dealer. his wife and 12 year old son survive. Foster, a nuts and candies salesman, was hospitalized in fair condition. Mrs Poster suffered minor bruises. Sheriff and six highway patrol officers sought the red truck.
A new solvent named Anti-Mist claims to keep windshields eyeglasses and mirrors fog free. Demonstrations show mist and fog vanish on treated surfaces both inside and outside. Available at Fox Drug Store Pool Drug Store Maxor Drug Stores Kirk Drug Store and others in city markets.
At a directors meeting the Amenville Civic Music Association voted to sponsor an artist course for the winter spring season. Campaign opens November 7. The general committee on American Education Week will meet tomorrow morning at 8 o clock at Amarillo High School announced by Charles M. Rogers superintendent of Amarillo Public Schools. American Education Week this year runs the week of November 12 a national observance since 1821. The event aims to inform the public about this key part of national life and is sponsored by the U S Office of Education and the American Legion with Amarillo school and community representatives guiding youth citizenship and character development.
The southeastern California and western Arizona area records the least precipitation in the United States, experiencing arid conditions and minimal rainfall compared with other regions.
The Southern Air Aces headline a Sunday 2:30 pm show at Municipal Airport sponsored by Hanson Post of the American Legion to raise funds for an iron lung. Jimmie Goodwin Joe Simpson and Bob Wilson perform daring parachute and stunt flights. half the gate goes to the iron lung fund.

D C Applequist sued Industrial Finance Company for a 105 percent rate on a $50 loan. Justice of the Peace H W Duke awarded $23 800 in damages, double the excess interest claimed. Attorney George Shannon plans appeal. Applequist has another pending suit against Amarillo Finance Company.
Reports from Barcelona say the Loyalist destroyer Jose Luis Diez fired shots that damaged the Italian cruiser Quarto in the Strait of Gibraltar.
