Yeggs Crack Safe in Fuqua Building, $104 Loot Recovered

Burglars broke into the offices of W. A. Askew & Company in the Fuqua building on Polk Street by forcing an inside second floor window. They pried a fire-proof vault door and took cash totaling $104.54, discovered Monday morning with police investigating and no clues yet.

Five Thousand Dollar Award In Railroad Death Suit

Through an agreed judgment Mrs Varina Freiberger of Amarillo widow of Marcus L. Freiberger a Fort Worth and Denver Railway brakeman was awarded $5,000 in the death of her husband last May 24 in the Dalhart yards. She had filed suit for $10,000 alleging negligence. Freiberger was killed while coupling box cars prior to pulling out. The $5,000 judgment for Mrs Freiberger and her five children will be entered today.

Porter Robbed of 8000 Dollars in Beaumont Store

Walter King a porter for a large Beaumont store was held up on a busy corner and robbed of 8000 dollars in cash and checks plus store receipts while scores watched. The second item notes Premier Julius Maniu's cabinet resignation in Bucharest on October 6.

Open New Courthouse Bids This Afternoon

Potter County bids on a 420000 courthouse bond issue were to be opened by the commissioners at 2 pm. Bond buyers and bond-house representatives were in town, optimistic about a high premium as Potter County bonds have long been in demand. County Judge Sam B Motlow noted a good bond market and no expected effect from a recent business downturn. Voters approved the courthouse in late August. architects are finishing plans and construction bids may come in early November.

Amarillo C of C renews push for government mooring mast

Through Congressman Marvin Jones the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce renews plans to obtain a government dirigible mooring mast in Amarillo. Manager V.
