Two stowaways believed aboard the wrecked airliner near Beauvais with one confirmed on board and a second possible passenger. Rescue and investigation continue as authorities assess the disaster and search for more survivors.
Senator Pink L. Parrish of the 30th district urged Governor Moody to call a special session to address drought relief in Northwest Texas. He said he spoke with the governor by telephone and that Moody showed interest. A separate note from C. W. Warburton, head of the federal drought relief committee, assures that drought relief railroad rates will not be withdrawn from counties already authorized.
Burglars broke into the offices of W. A. Askew & Company in the Fuqua building on Polk Street by forcing an inside second floor window. They pried a fire-proof vault door and took cash totaling $104.54, discovered Monday morning with police investigating and no clues yet.
Through an agreed judgment Mrs Varina Freiberger of Amarillo widow of Marcus L. Freiberger a Fort Worth and Denver Railway brakeman was awarded $5,000 in the death of her husband last May 24 in the Dalhart yards. She had filed suit for $10,000 alleging negligence. Freiberger was killed while coupling box cars prior to pulling out. The $5,000 judgment for Mrs Freiberger and her five children will be entered today.
Croydon England October 6 Flying Officer C J Chabot and Major C E Pickthorne took off at dawn in a Moth plane bound for Australia. They hope to reach the destination in seven days.
Walter King a porter for a large Beaumont store was held up on a busy corner and robbed of 8000 dollars in cash and checks plus store receipts while scores watched. The second item notes Premier Julius Maniu's cabinet resignation in Bucharest on October 6.
Potter County bids on a 420000 courthouse bond issue were to be opened by the commissioners at 2 pm. Bond buyers and bond-house representatives were in town, optimistic about a high premium as Potter County bonds have long been in demand. County Judge Sam B Motlow noted a good bond market and no expected effect from a recent business downturn. Voters approved the courthouse in late August. architects are finishing plans and construction bids may come in early November.

Through Congressman Marvin Jones the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce renews plans to obtain a government dirigible mooring mast in Amarillo. Manager V. Vernon cites the city as a central western air hub and home to the only federal helium plant, making it a logical site. The effort will be presented to the secretary of the navy.
President Hoover urged World War veterans to uphold law and vote to protect American institutions. He said government must enforce laws and citizens must actively support lawfulness, urging public action to sustain the constitution and order nationwide.
The Boy Scout Masters Round Table will meet at the Legion Hall Monday at 7:80 p.m. Scout executive M. J. Paul says plans for next year will be discussed and all troop committee members are urged to attend.
District attorney’s office dismissed charges of wife desertion against R. G. Statton noting the alleged desertion did not occur in Potter County. The action concludes the case with the state not pursuing the charge in the relevant jurisdiction.
In Kansas City a gunman killed Oldom J. Heffries of Ottawa and Jess Trowbridge and wounded Floyd F. Thompson after a car stop near Miss Lillian Rice's apartment. Eric Varble, a self styled racketeer, was detained as a suspect amid the investigation.
Brazil faces a bitter civil war as President Washington Luis declares martial law nationwide through December 31 after revolts in Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais. Rebels and federals clash while communications fail and volunteers are called, with the aim to block the inauguration of President-Elect Julio Prestes.
Airmail service on the Pan American Condor and French Aero Postale lines was suspended today amid the revolt. Banks were not quoting exchange.

Clifford Knox, 14, died from a fractured skull and crushed hip after his scooter collided with a motor car in front of Hereford hospital on East Third Street. He was the son of Mr and Mrs W A Knox and funeral services were held today.
Millie Dargan, captured at 18 months in 1864 during a Brazos River raid by Kiowa and Comanche Indians, was found living with a leading Kiowa family near Mountain Park Oklahoma. She spoke little English and had married into the tribe. The case highlights 1860s frontier depredations and long chase for abducted settlers.
