Searchers scoured fields near Bellefonte Penn for a westbound night mail aircraft missing since 11 30 last night. The plane bound from New York to Chicago was last seen near Laurelton about thirty miles east of Bellefonte and is believed to have gone down in the mountains with Pilot Charles Ames possibly seeking a way to communicate.
Amarillo Tri-State fair officials report a possible loss between 10 000 and 15 000 on the third year event with receipts and expenses under review. Directors and local business leaders pledged 16 000 to 18 900 to cover the deficit and blamed Ringling Bros circus crowds for waning attendance.
J. M. Edelen, 70, charged with mistreating a 7 year old girl, remains jailed. Attorneys say bond of 10 000 can be posted, but Edelen’s release is not sought now. Authorities later reported wealthy citizens ready to sign for his release, while others opted to stay out of the affair.

Los Angeles reports a man giving the name Jesse Dresser, 32, but suspected to be J. D. Coldthorpe, wanted in Amarillo for jumping bond. Police say in his office were 50 registration certificates and many license plates from wrecked cars used to identify other cases. He was booked on grand larceny suspicions as 7 stolen cars were seized. Bondsmen who sought Coldthorpe had feared his arrest for months.
Washington reports Ben Riley, British Labour MP, criticizes the Inter Parliamentary Union for excluding Saklatvala from the twenty third conference. He warns such action undermines equal rights within the union and calls on the council to restore participation and ensure all members can contribute to the union’s work.

She is listed in Who s Who for child welfare and Dumb Animal Society work and advocates stronger child protection laws. Her brother a top hydraulic engineer helped design the Galveston wall. Bates also serves as a director of Johnson Ranch Royalty Company tied to the case.
