Japs Using Hit and Run Tactics in Solomons
United Press reports from the Solomon Islands say Japanese warships prowl near Guadalcanal to disrupt American supply lines. The navy disclosed the auxiliary transport Gregon was sunk by gun fire and the 8 378 ton George F Elliott was destroyed after a Japanese plane crash sparked fires. Most personnel from both vessels were saved.
