In Washington drys say they are not active but plan to rally after repeal passes the House. They fear a beer revival with unregulated saloons and the rise of beer anarchy as regulation falls. Church groups back anti prohibition efforts to shield children from beer exposure.
Amarillo Fire Chief George B. Cooper reports his department joined Old Tack's Goodfellows to collect and repair toys for Christmas. A repair shop at Central Station has refurbished thousands of toys with in-house funds, and more are needed to keep the shop busy.
Long distance swimmers enjoy a miniature tank on the recreation car added to the New York to Miami railroad service. Five swimmers try the tank from left to right. Lisa Lindstrom Dorothea Dickinson Jessie Conway Susan Robertson and Joan Mc Sheehy.
Neville Chamberlain announced in the House of Commons that Britain will send a note to Washington in reply to the American refusal to postpone the 95 550 000 debt installment due December 15. The cabinet finished the note at a two hour session and expects publication soon. He denied rumors of gold shipments and noted convergence of views within the cabinet on the debt policy. Sterling rose to 3.20 after news of the note.
Bert Hamilton a 26 year old Negro was taken to Oklahoma City after Thanksgiving arrest for the November 18 shooting of pawnbroker Jack Denmark. He admitted involvement in the robbery of the pawnshop but denied firing the fatal shot while denying other gun related charges. He was earlier held on robbery with firearms at a service station and a garage. He held J C Dunn at the Herring garage during the capture and admitted he also robbed Adrian Herrin at a Gulf Refining service station.
Weather forecast for Amarillo and surrounding areas shows fair skies and a modest rise in temperatures tonight and Thursday. West Texas expects fair conditions with more moisture in the northwest and drier southeast. New Mexico trends toward fair conditions tonight and Thursday with slight warming in western and extreme southeast portions. Temperature extremes today reach up to 34 degrees at 1 PM.

James C. Phares 55 a Fort Worth and Denver Railway switchman died instantly when struck by a slowly moving freight train at 6 50 am in the local yards. He stumbled on a rail and fell into the train path while directing car switching. His body was found within two minutes near the freight house on Lincoln Street. Phares of Seattle survived by a widow and two children and a sister in Douglas Arizona. The body rests at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Christian Thaulow the noted Norwegian violinist arrives from Abilene with Mrs Thaulow and accompanist Hjalmar Bergh for the second Philharmonic concert of the season at Municipal Auditorium. Ellis B Hall conducts the 54 member orchestra and final rehearsal is set for Wednesday night. City Drug Store on Polk Street handles reservations for season and single concert memberships.

A note from the jewel thieves indicates an airplane aided the escape after stealing a trunk of jewels in Kansas City. The message marked a location on a Kansas road map and claimed the truck driver Logan Beaver was handcuffed to a tree 300 feet from the road in a dry gully before being found and released.
Paria reports Premier Edouard Herriot asked Parliament for a free hand in Geneva and confidence in his handling of the December 15 debt payment to the United States. Funeral services for Wilbur Kimble 27 will be held at Lakeview Baptist Church after he died from a brain concussion from a Crosby Floydada fight on November 17.
