Two victims M L May of Memphis and James McCauley of Wichita Falls testified they were attacked with a butcher knife at a Ross Hotel room on August 26 during a discussion of election returns. May broke a water pitcher on Boaz and called for help as McCauley was stabbed. May received neck and arm wounds and lost consciousness, later recovering in St Anthony's hospital. The men had traveled from Wichita Falls to Amarillo for a gasoline pipeline business deal with stops in Electra Memphis Giles and other towns.

Salesman Hurt When Car and Train Collide
W. W. Red Hancock a salesman for Pinkney Packing Company suffered serious head and left leg injuries and possible internal injuries when his car collided with a Rock Island motor train about 300 yards north of Pinkney's stockyards at 7 30 this morning. The motor train was arriving in Amarillo from Oklahoma City. Hancock's car was knocked about 30 feet. Witnesses pulled him from the automobile and he was taken to St Anthony's Hospital where officials said his condition was fair at noon. The Hancocks reside at 401 Philadelphia Street Silver Spray Club open soon.
