Committees plan the Older Boys Conference in Texas for December 6 to 8 expecting 500 or more delegates. Housing meals and transportation are arranged, with a 20 page one issue HI V newspaper to publish next Monday detailing the convention history and HI V goals.
The article describes photos of about 500 individuals including group shots of Hi chapters in the Senior High School and Amarillo's three junior highs. It credits Lauchlin McNeill as sponsor, W. A. McIntosh as schools superintendent, and Grover C. Good as state HiV secretary with committee chairmen for convention publicity. It notes letters and visits across North and West Texas to recruit delegates, with many cities pooling forces to exploit train rate cuts. 60 to 100 delegates from each area, 100 from Amarillo groups, and 150 people staying nightly in Hyde Park. It also mentions gasoline stations being introduced in Athens and Piraeus.
