Presentation of a life time portrait of Dr Samuel Lee Hornbeak president emeritus of Trinity University will be held on Thursday in Waxahachie Texas during the seventy third annual homecoming Alumni from Trinity University Presbyterian of the Southwest return to campus November 28 for the ceremony Dallas artist Jerry Bywaters painted the 36 by 42 inch likeness Hornbeak born 1865 in Bosqueville Texas has served Trinity in multiple roles over 67 years and became president in 1910 to 1920 later leading as emeritus head of economics and sociology his career includes endowment drives and teaching after partial blindness he continued lecturing with a reader and small classes continuing to shape university affairs through this period
