Prison escape attempt at Stateville leads to injuries
A guard and several prisoners were injured as inmates tried to break out at Stateville Penitentiary in Joliet Illinois. Guards stopped the rush at the south gate with police aid. 10 to 12 convicts were involved but none escaped.
