London November 23 Foreign Minister Ernest Bevin called on Russia and the United States to declare their territorial and base demands so issues can be discussed publicly. He rejected basing British policy on the Big Three and urged frank talks in the UN forum to ease suspicions. He pledged Britain would avoid unfriendly acts and face any suspicions openly.

Allied Commission trip approved by MacArthur for Japan visit

The Allied Far Eastern Advisory Commission will travel to Japan in the near future with General Douglas MacArthur giving approval. The commission, composed of ten Allied governments representatives, has met in Washington since its late month establishment and decided to visit Tokyo at a State Department meeting.

Traffic Court Reports Few Violations in Amarillo

Yesterday Amarillo traffic court saw only two paid fines for reckless driving. Defendants were Sam Alekin of 1006 West Sixth and A C Vadd of 1119 Polk, each fined $10. Four other traffic violation cases were filed, totaling $39 in fines.

General Eisenhower Hospitalized Urges Continued Support

General Dwight D. Eisenhower, suffering a respiratory ailment, entered Ashford General Hospital in White Sulphur Springs West Virginia as a precaution. The War Department said he canceled plans to return to Europe and would remain for treatment to prevent complications. He had flown in from Frankfurt to testify before committees and address the American Legion in Chicago.

Americans Die in Calcutta Riots Amid India Demonstrations

In Calcutta riots over Indian National Army Day at least 18 people died and 125 wounded as Indian mobs attacked British and American targets. A U.S. major and three soldiers were killed, including fatalities at the American officers club where nurses were stranded. Brig. Gen. 20 Killed In Iran Report From Trouble-Torn Azerbaijan

Shamrock Stock to Phillips

Shamrock Oil and Gas may sell stock to Phillips Petroleum as minority holder if K S Adams exercises an option on about 420000 Shamrock shares at 13 75 a share. The option runs to December 28, 1945, and would leave Phillips with under 30 percent ownership.
