Pampa Blast Claims Man and Family Died in Fire

In Pampa a fatal blast in a cellar killed J. C. Cross, 27, and instantly took his wife and a two year old child. Three relatives were severely burned but expected to recover. The blast followed lighting a match in the cellar. no gas lines were found though gas may have seeped from underground. Barefoot burglar targets teen girl in Dallas home

In Dallas on November 20, police hunted a barefoot burglar who entered a 13 year old girl’s room, tried to strangle her, ordered silence, and leaped from a window after she screamed. The assailant fled as officers investigated the home invasion.

New Helium Gas Well Drilled at Cliffside

Washington reports a $36000 contract awarded to Drilling and Exploration Co of Dallas to drill and complete a helium bearing natural gas well on the Cliffside structure in Potter County Texas. The aim is to augment helium supply used by the army and navy from the government plant seven miles west of Amarillo. The Cliffside structure lies 20 to 25 miles northwest of Amarillo.
