Public Works Administrator Harold L. Ickes said he will send President Roosevelt a statement with prima facie evidence of collusion in steel bids for two government financed projects. He will also seek a federal trade commission investigation and raised the domestic to foreign steel differential to 25 percent for orders over 100 dollars.
Prime Minister Mackenzie King has invited President Roosevelt to visit Canada, according to informed sources in London.

More than 35 000 former relief roll workers are on WPA rolls in Texas as the agency advances toward its goal. Over one third of eligible workers are employed, with state funds totaling more than 20 million dollars under active projects across 20 districts. District 16 chief A A Meredith says all relief roll workers in his area will be employed by month end, except for three cotton counties Donley Collingsworth Wheeler where projects start after December 1.
Rome reports Italy will not show leniency if the United States imposes an embargo on oil or other goods. An official spokesman said no specific measures could be stated until needed and that Italy will respond with its own eye for an eye policy.
Edith Maxwell a 21 year old school teacher testified in her own defense that she struck her father with a shoe during a drunken frenzy when he tried to whip her. She said she hit in the dark and did not know if the blows caused fatal injuries as charged by the state.
