Army reports 1926 quartermaster gains and assets
The quartermaster corps released the 1926 fiscal year figures detailing savings from Army logistics. It notes 40 laundries serving enlisted men, $260,033.34 net after expenses, $2,000,000 from surplus property, and fuel, equipment, and transport savings totaling over $3.8 million. The report covers livestock forage value, remount depots, motor vehicle reductions, and real estate activity including land sales and new constructions. It also records cemetery care costs, headstone contracts, and 25 women aviators in Europe.
